The Karma Mechanics are an Asheville, North Carolina based rock band centered on the musical friendship of lead guitarist and arranger Hamza Vandehey and singer-songwriter Dave Landy. The band plays authentic groove-oriented Rock'n'Roll with influences from rockabilly to funk, possessing a feel reminiscent of Neil Young and Crazy Horse. Their first recording, "Here for a Good Time," released in 2020, and their high-energy and punk-toned live performances are about as authentic as they come. They play with the pure, unadulterated joy of their lifetime love affair with rock and roll.
Current drummer Demetri Chakonas comes to the band having played with Artimus Pyle in Pyletribe, and brings "The Who" inspired energy and passion of a young Keith Moon.
With the release of their new LP, "Good to be Alive" in the summer of 2022, The Karma Mechanics will continue to keep the rock'n'roll faith and perform enthusiastically, bringing their extremely listenable and danceable sound to an expanding audience.
Don't miss The Karma Mechanics, the band that joyously and musically acknowledges it's influences, while foraging deeper into the rock'n'roll wilderness.
